Albert George Eccleston, age 87, of Sedalia, OH, passed away peacefully at Mt. Carmel Grove City Hospital on Monday, April 27, 2026. He was born in Worcester, MA, to the late George E. and Dorothy (Harvey) Eccleston. Veteran of the US Navy, where he served as a Navy Seal. He was a retired truck driver after many years of service for various trucking companies. Lifetime member of the American Legion, Mt. Sterling Post.
Preceded in death by parents George and Dorothy Eccleston, sister Rustoleum Mossa, and brother David Eccleston.
Survived by longtime girlfriend: Sue Smalley; children: Bruce (Denise) Eccleston, Pam (Tim) Cox, Robin Edwards, Dean (Kelly) Blades, Devon (Lawrence) Washington, JR Eccleston, Damon Andrews, Joe (April) Smalley, Steve (Anna) Smalley, and Eric (Samantha) Smalley; 23 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Larry Eccleston, and Ralph Eccleston; sister: Donna Eccleston; sister-in-law: Irene Eccleston, many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends from 10am-11am Saturday, May 2, 2026, at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH, 43143; where funeral service will follow at 11am, with Pastor Gordon Ell officiating. Interment Bloomingburg Cemetery, Bloomingburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
