Barbara Jean Cooper, age 90 of Mt. Sterling passed away October 25, 2016. She was born October 30, 1925 in Richmond, Indiana to William and Hazel Kreider.
She has been a resident of Mt. Sterling since 1956; owned and managed the Dairy Freeze from 1970 to 2005. Jean loved to travel especially with her sisters; spending time with her family; and loved listening to Country and Bluegrass music.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters Ellen Weist, June Lahrman, Dorothy Brown, Edna Hughes, Marie Essenmacher; brothers Oliver Kreider, Emmitt Kreider, and Kenneth (Jack) Kreider; nephews Robert Lahrman and Terry Brown.
Survived by former husband Darrell F. Cooper; son Steve Cooper (and Fiance Rebecca Burns); sister Patricia Dicken; many nieces and nephews including niece Vicki Nelson and caretaker Karen Bowers who were both like a daughter to her.
In keeping with her wishes Jean requested cremation. Her final resting place will be in Goshon Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana where a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
