Carl Pennington, age 84 of Mt. Sterling, passed away at home where he wanted to be on Thursday, June 18, 2015.
He was born May 13, 1931 in Jackson County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Jessie Pennington and Nancy (Seals) Pennington.
Carl retired from Robertson Fence after 32 years of service. He loved fishing, camping, gardening, splitting firewood; and most of all, loved
helping others. He was a member of the American Legion Post #417, Mt. Sterling.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; brothers Robert, Cecil, Theodore, John Henry, Newt, Kenny, and Donnie.
He is survived by children Larry Pennington (Cheryl), Jeri Evans, and Ellen Pennington; brothers Andy, Jessie Roy, and Dale; sisters Ruby and Ruth Ann; 5 grandchildren Kyle, Carl, Tosa, Eric, and Jessica; 6 great-grandchildren Kylee, Sarah Ann, Winter, Evanna, Taylor, and Jacob; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. The interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery where military honors will be given for the Army veteran. Family will receive friends beginning 11:00 am until time of service.
