Carole Ann Kemper

Carole Ann Kemper of Mt Sterling Ohio, age 82, passed away early Sunday morning, June 29th, 2025. Her children were by her side. Carole was born on August 4th, 1942, daughter of the late Roy Donald Burger and Mary Fern Rife Burger. She was one of six kids. She married Ray Kemper on October 15th, 1960, and spent the next almost 61 years loving and laughing together until his passing on September 26th, 2021. A stubborn woman, she never let anyone dictate what she could or could not do in life. When applying to the Orient State Institute in Ohio, coworkers took bets on how long she would last. She ended up outlasting almost all of them and only left when the institute closed. She then moved on to work for an assisted living facility up until her retirement. She was passionate about what she did and loved building relationships with the people she worked with. She was a devoted member of the Mt. Sterling Church of Christ in Christian Union, where she was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. She lived her life for the Lord. Her favorite form of witnessing was through cards. She could often be found making her way to the post office to drop off that day's batch of birthday, anniversary, or "just because" cards. She was a gifted green thumb, and an expert at spotting deer- no matter how far they were. She will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 60 years Ray Kemper, parents Roy and Mary Burger, father and mother-in-law Pearl and Mary Kemper, brother Roger Burger, sisters Joyce Twyman and Linda Deel, sister-in-law Joan and June Kemper, and brother-in-law Harold "Grip" Kemper and Patrick Stout. Survived by children Kim (Wendall) Harris, and Rocky (Kelly) Kemper, brother Kris (Amy) Burger, sister Patricia Stout, grandchildren Jessica (Jim) Liddle, Justin Kemper, Rachel (Aaron) Follrod, Alisha Johnson, George Johnson, and many great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. WEDNESDAY at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 where her Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2025 with Pastor John Burr, officiating. Carole will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Ray at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
