Charles Allen Stump, 85, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 24. He was member of The First United Methodist Church of Mount Sterling and Talmadge Lodge No. 194, Knights of Pythias. Charles co-owned Columbus Col-Weld Corp., where he worked until retiring in 2018. He will be remembered for his love of gardening, quick wit, and charming personality that brought out the best in everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Charlotte Stump, and his brothers, Roger and Jon. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie; his brother Maynard (Joyce Paullin Stump); his beloved sons, Bill (Carol Reno) and David (Rasheeda Khan); and his four beautiful grandchildren, Alexandra, Will, David, and Charlie. He is also survived by special family members Bonnie Clemans Stump, Wanda Arbogast Mayo, Teresa Arbogast Flateby, and Lisa Mayo Weinbaum.
A Celebration Service will be held at The First United Methodist Church of Mount Sterling, 110 South London Street, Mount Sterling, OH, on April 4, 2026 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Joshua Andrews officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The First United Methodist Church and Capital City Hospice.
