Cindy A. (Rice) Miller was born to Elmer and Gerry Rice at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on January 26th , 1962. She grew up (and raised a little cane) in Mount Sterling, Ohio, graduating from Madison Plains High School in 1980, with a trip to Spain under her belt. 1995 was absolutely her
year when she met a Mr. Bradley Curl, who became the best love of her life, and they completed 27 years of love between them. In August 1997, she relocated with her two children, to Oil Springs, Kentucky. While being a single mother raising two children, she beat the odds and graduated college at
Big Sandy Community and Technical College (Paintsville, KY) in 2001 with two degrees and a multitude of certifications.
She wore many hats in life, and did so proudly, especially when those hats were in service of others. Not only did she mother her two children, but she mothered so many of their friends as well. A revolving door and an open heart were the rule of her home.
Saturdays and Sundays were holy days during football season when the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns played. She would argue anyone up and down that Ohio sports were definitely superior because the Cavs, Browns, Guardians, Bucks, and Blue Jackets were top notch. Definitely never
mention TTUN, and never disrespect TBDBITL.
She enjoyed many metal concerts with Brad over the years, and prided herself on having seen Iron Maiden and Judas Priest more times than she could count (those shows are rare, ya know?!).
When her children grew up and had their own children, she took to the role of Nana with a glee that was unmatched. Being a Nana was the ultimate Mom level and the winning lottery ticket to life.
Stubborn as the day is long, she decided enough was enough and up and left us all on this side of the dirt on June 15 th , 2023, so she could take heaven a little hell.
She is now rejoicing with her parents, Elmer and Gerry Rice, her heart of hearts, Bradley Curl, a massive host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and most importantly, she has walked with Jesus as she had longed to do.
Those left to carry on her legacy and celebrate her are her children, Todd R. Miller, Cortoney (Rush) Williamson, a sister, Chris (Dave) Smith, nieces Ryan Persinger, Erin (Dante, Kailey) Aguilar, her perfect (don’t you dare say otherwise!) Grandchildren, Ashton Miller, Leah Miller, and Gabriel Williamson.
Private services were held and a public celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
