Dickie Downs

Dick Downs, 77, of Mt. Sterling passed away in Columbus, OH on July 4, 2023. Dick was born at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, OH on July 27, 1945 to Gladys (Crawford) and Gaylord Downs. He attended Monroe School, serving in the National Guard after graduation.

Dick married Marcia (Steiner), and together they raised 3 boys, Brad Downs, and Nathan and Bryan Fielder. A life-long resident of Monroe Township, he worked as Station Operator for Texas Eastern, while enjoying farming, fishing, hunting, bowling and participating in local auctions and farm/estate sales, collecting various old and peculiar items. Dick was also a proud member of the Monroe Men’s Club and the Monroe Township Zoning Committee. Dick is survived by wife, Marcia; sisters Diana (& Leon) Chandler and Doreen (& Mike) Cole; brother David (& Brenda) Downs; sons Brad Downs, Nathan (& Meredith) Fielder, and Bryan (& Nicole) Fielder, 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter; and was predeceased by his parents Gaylord and Gladys Downs.

Memorial services will be held at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main Street, Mount Sterling, Ohio, 43143, on Saturday, July 8^th,2023, from 11am-1pm.
