Dixie Abernathy, age 85, of Sabina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. She was born on May 21, 1941, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to the late Buren and Ida Jackson. Dixie had been married to her loving husband, Donald Abernathy, for 45 years.
In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her son Timothy Potter; brothers: Orville Jackson, Arnold Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Hansen Jackson, and Ollie Jackson; sisters: Anna Lou Pennington, Ruby Grewball, Mary Jean Heart, and Josephine McGromery.
She is survived by her son Tom Potter.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Sterling, Ohio.
