Donald L. Smith, age 79 of Derby died January 1, 2014 in Monterey Nursing Home, Grove City. He was born Jan. 24, 1934 in Derby, Ohio.
Member of Derby United Methodist Church; National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc.; Darby Township Zoning Committee; 50 year member of Harrisburg Knights of Pythias.
Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Elsie (Spangler) Smith; special family Eldon & Mazie Ridgway and Linda Ridgway.
He is survived by his loving sister, Nancy K. Smith; Goddaughter, Marci Graham; Godson, Tom (Elizabeth) Durflinger and their families which include Emily Graham, Jennifer (Jesse) Jones, Jessica (Derek) Radcliff and their daughter Lucy, Lindsay (Larry) Landenberger; Special Family & Friends Patty and Doug Woods, Kerwin (the late Jody) Durflinger; many cousins and close friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Leland Brehm officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5th from 2 – 5 p.m.
Family suggest memorial contributions may be given to the Derby United Methodist Church.
