Eldon J. Long, age 81 of Williamsport, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Chillicothe VA. He was born June 24, 1932 in Pickaway County.
Life member of American Legion and Circleville Amvets.
Preceded in death by parents, Herschel and Eva (Brigner) Long, daughter Vanessa, brother Paul, and sister Florence.
He is survived by wife Lois who he married Dec. 15, 1952; sons Eldon J. Long II, Jeffrey Long; sisters Ruth Reed and Irene Morgan; grandchildren Eldon J. III, Calvin Fyffe, Christopher, Jenny, Michael, Garrett, Jessie Eva Olletta, Tabitha Fullen; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. The family will receive friends beginning 12:00 Noon until time of service. The interment will follow in Springlawn Cemetery, Williamsport. The Circleville Amvets Post #2256 will perform a military service for the Army veteran.
