Grant Harris

Grant Harris, age 96, of Mt. Sterling, passed away October 23, 2011. Member of Gideons International, 50 year member of the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, a Minor League baseball player, who went to serve in the Army during WWII, as he was about to make it into the Major Leagues. Preceded in death by wife Dorothy Ellen Harris. Survived by niece, Melanie (Rev. Jeffrey) Julien; beloved friend and caregiver, Debbie Lucas; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, 110 S. London St., Mt Sterling, OH 43143, where funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the address listed above.
