Joann Delay, age 81 of Columbus died Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Monterey Health Care, Grove City, Ohio. She was born Oct. 21, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio.
Joann was retired from White Castle, former member of Derby Garden Club and member of Sterling Chapter #74 O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Carl Hemphill and Ada (Walker); husband Ralph Delay; sisters Mary Tolbard and Nina Patterson; brothers Ruffie Hemphill, Woody Hemphill, and Ernie Hemphill.
She is survived by her son, Huck Hemphill of Grove City; niece (like a daughter), Sheila Taylor; twin sister Barbara Moorehead of Florida; grandsons Brock Charles (Samantha) Hemphill of Circleville, Kyle Chance Hemphill and Sean Ian Hemphill, both of Rochester Hills, MI.; great-granddaughter, Chloe; brother-in-law, Frank Tolbard of Columbus; Niece Mindy Tinsky of Columbus; nephew Steve Tolbard of Columbus; sisters-in-law Judy Hemphill, Jeannie Hemphill and Mary Lou Hemphill; Special Friend, Hilton Kunselman of Canal Winchester; many nieces and nephews; good friend Danielle Harvel.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. A Memorial service will begin at that time with Pastor Braden Workman officiating.
