John D. Shockley, age 64 of Mt. Sterling died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Mt. Carmel West Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio.
John was the owner of Larry’s Pizza in Mt. Sterling.
Preceded in death by wife, Janet; Father, David Shockley; sisters Connie Shockley and Carmen Boggs; Step-father, Lawrence Shoemaker; Father-in-law, Harry Bushon.
He is survived by his loving family which includes daughter, Caryn (Andy) Dinneen of Mt. Sterling; son, Kristin (Jennifer) Shockley of Upper Arlington; 6 grandchildren Allison, Ashley and Drew Dinneen; Taylor, Carter, and Parker Shockley; Mother Maggie Shoemaker of Mt. Sterling; sister Chris Shockley of Mt. Sterling; and brother Mark (Robin) Shockley of Grove City,
A Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 – 4 until time of service. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will follow.
Family suggest memorial contributions to Mount Carmel Hospice, c/o Mount Carmel Foundation, 793 West State Street, Columbus, Ohio 43222-9988.
