Joyce M. Porter

Joyce Marie Porter, 79, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, August 7 in Circleville, Ohio. She was born June 5, 1936 in Powell, Ohio to the late Howard and Hazel Solt. She graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1954. She married her life-long love, Dean Porter, in 1957 and took up residence in the Mt. Sterling area as a homemaker. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband in January 2015, her son Fred, and her sisters, Beverly Richardson and Geri Baughman of Carroll, Ohio. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Tammy Williams (Rick) of Circleville, Teri Griffith (Jeff) of Mineral, Virginia, and Tim (Lisa) Porter of Chillicothe. She has ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, a brother, Howard (Beverly) Solt, cousins, nephews and nieces. Joyce was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Sedalia, Ohio. Visitation with the family will start at 1pm Friday, August 14 at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W.
