Juanita Faye Brown

August 3, 1941 — April 28, 2026

Albany, Ohio

Juanita Faye Brown, lovingly known as “Needy,” passed away peacefully in her home on April 28, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born on August 3, 1941, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to Dale Kemper and Myrtle Kemper. In 1960, she moved to Mount Sterling, Ohio, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and community. She spent over 40 years living on a small farm between Mount Sterling and London, Ohio, a place she deeply loved and where many cherished memories were made.

Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She celebrated 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Larry Brown, a testament to their deep love and commitment. Together they created a strong and loving family that remained the center of her world.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jack Kemper; and her daughter, Teresa Mullins, along with Teresa’s husband, Rick Mullins.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Brown; her son, Michael Brown, and his fiancée, Brittany; her grandchildren, Zachary Smiley, Ryann Brown, and Ledger Brown; and Brittany’s children, Isaac and Lilly, whom she treated and loved as her own grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean Dotson (preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dotson), Audrey Hatten (and husband Buzz Hatten), Connie Sheets, and Kathy White (and husband Steve White).

Juanita was deeply devoted to her faith and her church family, faithfully attending Antioch Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years. Her life reflected strong values, compassion, and a deep commitment to those she loved.

She worked throughout her life at the Mount Sterling Glove Factory, Sears, and the London School Systems, but her greatest joy came from caring for others. She especially loved babysitting and nurturing children, touching the lives of many families in her community.

Juanita loved being outdoors, especially on the farm, where she enjoyed watching the cattle and enjoying her morning coffee on the back deck. She took great pride in supporting her children and grandchildren in 4-H, especially when they were showing pigs- something that brought her a great deal of joy.

Juanita had a special love for her grandchildren, her “grandbabies,” who brought her immense joy and pride. She was a very loving woman who never hesitated to speak her mind, especially when it came to protecting and standing up for her family. Her strength, honesty, and fierce love were part of what made her so special.

She shared a close bond with her sisters and treasured the time they spent together, especially their yearly vacations, which she always looked forward to and held dear.

Juanita will be remembered for her warm heart, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on through all who knew and cherished her.

Her memory will be forever treasured and never forgotten.
