Judy A. Brown

June 28, 1943 — August 8, 2015

Judy A. Brown, a long-time resident of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, the 8th of August, at Bluebird Retirement Community after a brave battle with cancer. She was a devoted and loving wife to surviving husband, Frank Brown for 54 years. Judy was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 28th, 1943. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Marvine (nee Puckett) Elliott and brother Jimmy Lee Elliott. She is survived by her son, James “Jay” (Christi) Brown; granddaughter, Stephanie; great grandchildren, William and Winston; sister, Nancy (nee Elliott) Frederick; as well as several nieces and nephews. Judy was a long-time Avon representative, and enjoyed the many friendships that she made over the years. She loved to travel and experience new and exciting locations. Those who knew her will remember her smile, laugh, and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by those she laughed with, lived for, and loved. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St, Mt., Sterling, Ohio. The funeral service will take place at 11am, Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dortha Ross, Associate Pastor of the Mt. Sterling First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made online to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund.
