Julia I. Horney

Julia I. Horney, age 86, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022. Born on September 26, 1936, in Madison County, she is the daughter of the late Dannie and Anna (Casto) Hix.

Julia was a retired employee of the Ohio Department of MR-DD, a member of the Crossroads Church, and the Monroe Garden Club.

She is survived by sons Danny (Karen) Horney, and Ronald (Robin) Horney, 6 grandchildren Heather (Lea) Sneed, Rachel Hurst, Robert (Audra) Horney, Jill (Justin) Towler, Ross Horney, and Tyler Horney, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister Lelia Grindley, and a host of special family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Ed Grindley, and many special family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN STREET, MOUNT STERLING, OHIO, 43143. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Lonnie Potts will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Sterling, Ohio.
