Julie Leach

The family of Julie Leach is sad to announce her passing on June 1, 2026. Julie served in the United States Army prior to becoming a Columbus police officer. She retired from the Columbus Police Department after serving the department and community for 17 years. Her dedication to duties as an officer was unmatched and she became known as Grandma to the community she served. Julie was also a graduate of Bliss Business College.

Julie was honest, hardworking, kind-hearted and generous to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her family unconditionally and her greatest joy was her sons and grandchildren. She cherished each moment spent with them. Julie also loved animals and enjoyed living in the country and tending to her animals.

Julie is survived by her husband of 44 years, David and sons Donnie (Rachel) and David, Jr. (Deana) and 7 grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her mother, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and several nieces and nephews.

A visiting hour will be held June 9, 2026, 4:00 -.6:00 p.m. at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with the service at 6:00 p.m. following visitation.
