Kathy M. Stires

Kathy Mae Stires, age 63, of Obetz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. She was born on February 8, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, to Roy Lee Wright and Mary Kathryn Chabot. She was proceeded in death by husband, Victor A Stires; her parents; father-in-law, Frederick T Stires; mother-in-law, Freda M Stires; siblings, Susan A Moore, Denny L Wright.

Kathy is survived by her children, Jason Stires of Columbus, Jennifer (Bryan) Montgomery of London, Jacob (Lydia) Stires of Obetz; grandchildren: Victoria Montgomery, Tyler Darst, Dalton Darst; siblings: Terry (Jim) Smith of Marysville, Mary (Dave) Lutz of Stoutsville, Steve (Pat) Wright of Columbus.

Kathy was a loving wife, mother, sister, and mamaw who cherished spending every moment with her family. Kathy married Victor in 1975, her childhood sweetheart, which culminated into 48 years of marriage that blessed three children. An endearing mother whose unconditional love and support that taught her children valuable life lessons. Family meant everything to Kathy. She had close bonds with her children and always said she loves you. She made every opportunity to at least call and talk for hours to her children, family, and friends daily. Sometimes more than once. She brought joy to the lives around her. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. 

Kathy was an avid The Ohio State Football fan with Victor. Saturday was a tradition to watch the game as a family. Kathy was outgoing and always on the go. She enjoyed going out to eat and was a regular at Outback, Red Robin, and Texas and shopping. 

The family will receive friends for a visitation at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St. in Mt. Sterling, OH, 43143, on WEDNESDAY, October 18, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, on THURSDAY, October 19, 2023, at the funeral home.  Kathy will be laid to rest afterwards at the Pleasant Cemetery.
