Keith Allen Smith

Keith Allen Smith, age 54 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away early Sunday, November 27, 2022. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his brother-in-law, Steve Hatfield. Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Janka Smith, his parents, Kenneth and Sandra Smith, mother-in-law Magdalena Kovac, sister Kendra Hatfield, son Gage Smith, daughter Alex Gerlaugh, son Seth (Samantha) Smith, daughter Vada (Matthew) Kennedy, brother-in-law Milan Kovac, brother-in-law Marion (Emily) Kovac, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. 

Keith was a loving father and husband with a life-long passion for many things in which he excelled: sports, cooking, and music, to name a few. He was employed by Elford, Inc. for many years and often shared stories of the wonderful friendships he developed there. He graduated from Westfall High School in 1987 where he excelled in football and baseball. After high school, Keith attended Urbana University and pursued his musical career by touring the country with his band, most notably The Lilybandits. Throughout his life, Keith developed an incredible passion and talent for cooking which he always credited to his mother. He pursued his culinary passion professionally in catering private events followed by the launching of The Green Meanie Food Truck. He showed his love through his food by always cooking for the people in his life. Keith had a profound impact on everyone he met, and he was always willing to help anyone around him. His extremely kind and generous spirit, his charismatic, fun, and energetic personality will be painfully missed. 

The family will be holding a private funeral service on Saturday, December 3, 2022, and a public celebration of life on Sunday, December 4, 2022, The celebration of Keith's life will take place at Henderson Wine House/Somewhere In Particular Brewing Company, 5055 Dierker Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43220, from 1pm to 4pm.
