Leonard Glenn Williams, Jr., age 80, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. Born in Madison County, Ohio to the late Leonard and Nancy Williams, Leonard was a graduate of Miami Trace High School, Class of 1963, and where he met the love of his life, Emma. After high school, Leonard entered the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1967. After his military service, Leonard and Emma became active and faithful members of the Mount Sterling Freewill Baptist Church and Leonard would serve as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Nancy Williams, his grandson Travis Griffith, his sister Regina, and his brothers Kenny, Raymond, Larry, Hershel, Richard Leroy, and Steve.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Emma (Holloway) Williams, daughter Kelly (Jim) Jordan, son Brent (Cheryl) Williams, grandchildren: Karolyne (James) Wimer, Madison (Carson) Young, Mariah (Lauren Turner) Burkart, brothers and sisters: Rick (Cathy) Williams, Tim (Verna) Williams, Carol Gordon, and Gerri Sigmon, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Diane Williams, Wilamina Williams, Robin Williams, Brian Howard, Rose (Ken) Miller, Violet (Carl) Marcus, and Chuck (Becky) Holloway, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends from 2:00p.m.-5:00p.m. SUNDAY at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 and again from 10:30a.m.-11:00a.m. MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2025 at the MOUNT STERLING FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 15938 Cook Avenue, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 with his Funeral Service beginning at 11:00a.m. MONDAY with Pastor Jim Blankenship, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
