Patricia Jean Anthony

Patricia Jean Anthony, age 74, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Bonnie and Walter Dyer, Patty was a graduate of Plains High School, Class of 1969. A stay-at-home mom for many years, Patty later worked as a school librarian and teachers’ aide at Midway Elementary for over 30 years before her retirement. Patty was a former president of Women for Ohio Agriculture, was active in the school PTO, was a long-time advisor for Green Range 4H Club, and was active in the Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tom Dyer, sister-in-law Virginia Engle, and brother-in-law Timothy Anthony.

Patty is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Stephen Anthony, her children: Julie Anthony Baum (Darren George), Doug (Alicia) Anthony, Susan Anthony Baker (Shane), Cody Anthony (Karla); her 11 grandchildren: Alec, Aleah, Layla, Lani, Jillian, Kendra, Paige, Lidia, Mia, Colton, and Kinsley; sister Pam (John) Huffman, brother Tim (Deb) Dyer; sisters-in-law Brenda Anthony, Donna Dyer, Phyllis Stickel, Sondra (Glenn) Bard; brother-in-law Christopher (Patricia) Anthony; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will welcome friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2026, at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-9222, where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 1:00 p.m. FRIDAY. Patty will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
