Peg Furniss

Margaret Anne “Peg” Furniss, age 84, of Jeffersonville, Ohio, a native of Era, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 2, 2025. Born in Pickaway County to the late William and Helen Sollars, Peg was a full-time, life-long mother to her large family and to many others. In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her husband Butch Tanner, her former husband and the father of her children Charles Furniss, and his brothers Jim Furniss and Mark Furniss. Peg is survived by her children: Patricia (Harold Jackson) Rinehart, Charles “Bud” (Melissa Edwards) Furniss, Sara Furniss, Mark (Brenda) Furniss, Jimmy (Chris) Furniss, and Randy Furniss. Peg was blessed with a growing family that includes 57 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Jones and several nieces and nephews. A special Thank you to Peg’s granddaughter Misty, and to Hospice of Dayton, for their loving and compassionate care.

Family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00p.m. SUNDAY at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 where her Funeral Service will be held 1:00p.m. MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2025 with Pastor Jim Blankenship, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
