Robert C. Roy, age 80 of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 5, 1935 in Albion, Illinois. Son of the late Harry and Harriett (Rigg) Roy.
Rob was retired from State of Ohio D.R. & C.; former Mayor of Mt. Sterling; member of American Legion Post #419 of Mt. Sterling; Mt. Sterling Lodge #269 F & AM; veteran of United States Navy.
Preceded in death by parents and brother Wallace Townley Roy.
He is survived by son Rob Roy of SanDiego, California; daughter Heidi Stone and her husband, Mike; 2 grandchildren Jeremy Robert Stone and Wyatt James Stone.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, November 6, 2015 at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Billy Warner officiating with interment following in Pleasant Cemetery where military honors will be given to the Navy veteran. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 - 7 pm. Visitation will conclude with Masonic services beginning at 7:00 pm.
