Ruthan Hughes

Ruthan Hughes, age 89, of Derby, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Wyngate Senior Living Facility in Circleville, Ohio.  Born in Shadeville, Ohio to the late John and Ruth McPherson, Ruthan was a graduate of Derby High School, Class of 1953.  She retired from the Industrial Commission of Ohio after many years of service.  Ruthan was a life-long resident of Derby.

In addition to her parents, Ruthan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Jack Hughes, who passed in 2015.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers Jim and Pete McPherson.

Ruthan is survived by her four daughters: Kim (Lonnie) Bailey, Lisa (Curtis) Skaggs, Joellen Daulton, and Stacy (Jack) Coey; her grandchildren: Gerald Bailey, Laura Bailey, Kevin (Cassie) Bailey, Nicole Skaggs, Cassie (Michael Thomas) Skaggs, J.T. (Rhonda Cox) Daulton, Michael (Kristen McManus) Daulton, Savana (fiancé Brantlyn Anderson) Skaggs; great-grandchildren: Julie Kasberg, Nicholas Waite, Christopher Waite, Ariyah Bailey, Reghan Bailey, MacKenna Bailey, Ashley (Clayton) Spires, Tayla Taylor,  Darren Daulton, Devin Daulton, Dallas Daulton, Gavin Daulton; great-great-grandchildren: Stetson Anderson, Greyson Anderson and Brantley Anderson; brother-in-law Norman Hughes, and many other loving family members and friends.

Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. FRIDAY at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777.  Funeral Services will be held 10:00a.m. SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 2024 at DERBY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 11792 London Road, Orient (Derby), Ohio 43146 with Pastor Rob Stufflebeam, officiating.  Ruthan will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Jack at Muhlenburg Twp. Cemetery, Darbyville, OH.
