Shelley Suzanne Porter

Shelley Suzanne Porter, age 56, of Orient, OH, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center.  She was born in 1961 in Newark, OH to the late Charles Swyck and Cora McCoy.  In addition to her birth parents, Shelley was also preceded in death by the father who raised her, Mack McCoy, and by her brother Jim McCoy.  Shelley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Emily & Chad Siders of Williamsport, OH and her son Chris Porter of Davison, MI, her grandchildren Addisyn, Kaydance and Maygen, her siblings Scott (Vicki) Swyck, Steve (Selena) Swyck, Cathy Adkins, Geraldine McCoy and Fred McCoy, her nieces and nephew Angela Merckling, Jamee' Swyck, Missy Zuck and Jimmie McCoy, and her many friends.  An avid Buckeye fan, Shelley also loved NASCAR and adored Kevin Harvick.  She was a lover of animals-especially dogs, cats and dolphins.  Shelley worked at the Mobil Station convenience store in Harrisburg, OH for 18 years.  Everyone knew her and Shelley never met a stranger.  She was helpful and generous and loved her job and her customers.  Shelley also, in her death, was generous to others by giving the gift of life through organ donation.  Her family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00p.m. SATURDAY, JULY 28, 2018 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt.
