Stewart L. Detty, age 61 of Mt. Sterling died Saturday evening, July 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. The son of the late Harold L. and Clara B. (Daines) Detty.
Stewart served in the US Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by wife, Betty; children Amy Patrick (Charles), James Matthew Fletcher (Tonya), Timothy Fletcher, Melissa Anders. Amy McFadden (John); brothers Damon Dean and Harold L. Detty; sisters Cheryl Adams and Brenda McKirgan (James).
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Apostolic Gospel Church in Mt. Sterling. Rev. Darrell Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Detty, cremation was requested. The family has been served by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling.
