GROFF Taylor Groff, age 93, a lifelong resident of Fayette County, died February 16, 2012 in Springmeade Health Center in Tipp City, Ohio. He was born February 27, 1918 in Madison Mills, Ohio.
Taylor was Manager of Hockman Grain & Feed; member of Madison Mills United Methodist Church; Bloomingburg Masonic Lodge #449 F & AM; Madison Township Trustee; Fayette County Memorial Hospital Board; Madison Mills Board of Education.
He was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Ruth (Hopkins)Groff; wife, Mary M. (Anschutz) Groff; brothers Max, Thaymer, and Clyde Groff.
He is survived by children Gail (Ed) Grim of Tipp City, Ohio, Don (Ruth) Groff of Ithaca, New York, Jim (Judy) Groff of Wichita, Kansas; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews which include Bob (Peggy) Groff of Washington C.H.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of funeral, beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. A Masonic service will be given for Mr. Groff at 11:30 am by the Bloomingburg Masonic Lodge #449 F & AM. A Funeral service will then follow with Rev. Robert Sholis officiating. The interment will follow in Madison Mills Cemetery.
Family suggest memorial contributions to Miami County Hospice P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373.
