William "Bill" H. Tedrow

William H. “Bill” Tedrow, age 77, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 with his family by his side. Born in Wind Ridge, PA to the late Cecil and Velma Tedrow, he was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, Class of 1960. As an employee of General Motors for 35 years, Bill was elected as a United Auto Workers Committeeman on numerous occasions. He was a life-long member of UAW Local 780, Elyria, Ohio and UAW Local 969, Columbus, Ohio. After his retirement from GM, Bill was the owner/operator of Bullet Express, Inc. for 13 years. He volunteered at the American Legion Post 417, Mt. Sterling for several years and attended the United Church of Mt. Sterling. As a native of Pennsylvania, Bill was a devout fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions. A genuine man, he was loved and respected by all. He lived by the motto: “We Are Union!” In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Billie Jo Tedrow, his brothers Hubert, Cecil and Benjamin, his sisters Norma Jean Hillpala and Patricia Tedrow, nephew Ron Bauer, brothers-in-law Arnie Bauer and Ted Casey and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Priscilla and Alan Casey. Bill is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Sue Tedrow, his children: Denise Tedrow, Derrik (Robin) Tedrow, Patricia Tedrow-Davis, Casey (Jason) Alkire and Mathew Harris; his grandchildren: Steven Robertson, Erica Sewar, Colby Tedrow, Connor Weekley, Colin Weekley, Jacob Alkire, Caden Alkire, Avery Alkire, Olivia Davis and Tommy Hughes-Harris; his great-grandson Nolan Rosado, sister Shirley Tedrow Bauer, special niece Cindy (Todd) Blake, and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00p.m. THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2020 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 where his Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2020 with Pastor Dan Shipley, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt.
